Akbar’s (Glasgow)

My second night in Glasgow I was acclimated enough to go out for dinner. On my way to and from the conference venue (which was the Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre—the Western Infirmary being where they had treated a few cases of Ebola earlier that spring), I had walked past this place called Akbar’s. They had a banner out front that read “Best Curry in the UK.” Well, all right, that sold me.

I was not disappointed. Here are some photos of the food. Alas I can’t remember the name of the first dish I had, but the curry is lamb, and it was absolutely excellent. Also, they serve you your naan suspended on a stand.

Lamb curry.
Naan, on its stand.
