Well, here’s some good news

I’m currently trying to get all my grading done, so some of the longer posts I’d been hoping to tackle, or the ones that involve uploading lots of photographs will have to wait. However, I did have some good news to share.

Every year, as part of the One City, One Story, the Boston Book Festival prints a short story by an author from the greater Boston area. In the spirit of making the work as accessible as possible, they engage local translators to translate the story into a number of different languages, among them, French. I just volunteered to do French version of this year’s entry. It won’t be available until some time in October, but for anyone who wants more information about the festival, or to read last year’s story, by Daphne Kalotay, I encourage you to visit the festival’s website.

As you might imagine, I’m very excited, and make sure to check back in October, when I’ll link to the translation, and to the e-Reader versions. If time allows, I’ll add an entry about the particular challenges posed by the translation, and to let you know how it went.
